    • Interesting format

I decided to read this book after seeing the film trailer - I am a big fan of reading novels that make it on to the big screen. I like the storyline and concept of the book, given that it is written from two view points and the fact that the story doesn't follow the usual timeline. The problem is that having read this I found myself feeling disatisfied - there is no real happy ending (not that I expect all books to end in that way) but all the characters seem pretty doomed from the start and there lives are fairly miserable and tinged with sadness - perhaps I need more optimism from a novel! I am glad that I read the book but I don't think it is one that I will re-visit.

    • Love it!

It is a beautiful love story. But the thing I like about it is that is the best thriller that i have ever read. There were moments when I was on the edge of my seat. wow! the best book that i have ever read.

    • A must read

This book sat on my shelf for two years untouched until I went on maternity leave and then I realised what a fool I'd been to leave it unread for so long. It was a real pleasure to read. It took me a few chapters to get used to the style of writing eg Clare aged 5, Henry aged 26 and 10. Once I got my head around it I couldn't put this book down. The story is basically a love story that will make you smile, your heart ache and occasionally laugh out loud. I love this book and think everyone should read it.

    • Simply - the best book I have read .... so far

      by SueF - 2010-08-21  Rated 5 stars
This book had me hooked immediately .... I read it in 2 days beside a very hot swimming pool in Morocco ... the same swimming pool that I sat next to with the biggest lump in my throat until I eventually cried ... and then spent 2 days reflecting and piecing together parts of the story that had played on my mind and made me really think about their meaning. Came home - ordered the book for a friend and the dvd for me .... SO looking forward to hearing her opinion and watching the film ! ... BUY IT !

    • Banal love story

by Paul Sloane (Camberley, England) - 2010-08-20  Rated 1 stars
The book starts with an interesting premise. Henry is a man with a unique genetic disorder that allows him to travel in time. He goes back and meets Clare, a little girl who years later becomes his wife. The rest of the novel consists of episodes at different times in their love story. But the time travel idea is not developed in an intelligent or interesting way. The love story is routine. I struggled to find anything gripping or engaging about the characters or the story. I know that many other people think the book is wonderful but I found it very disappointing.
