I bought this recipe binder as a gift and I must say I am reluctant to give it. The binder is red with dull gold lettering. It does fold back part-way to act as an easel. On the inside there are two protective coverings for random recipes. There are 50 recipe sheets (100 pages) for you to write recipes on. At the top of the recipe sheet it says Recipe and directly underneath it says dish:_________serves:__________. At the bottom of the card it has a small box that says calories cholesterol and sodium if you would like to add that. The book has 12 tabbed dividers. The first one says appetizers(with mine the letters were partially rubbed off when received it). Other tabs include baked goods, desserts, eggs/cheese, meat, microwave, misc., pasta/rice, poultry, seafood, soups/salads/sauces, and vegetables. Each tabbed divider has helpful cooking tips on them. Recipe cards are refillable and measure 8 1/2 x 6". I think this is a very organized piece and it surely could come in handy, but I am not impressed with the presentation of it, especially since a new one was sent to me with the lettering of one of the tabbed dividers rubbed off halfway. Very convenient! Two clear page protectors included. Very easy (and inexpensive) to find refills. The backing for the binder is very sturdy.Nice book

Well I just received mine in the mail and I must say its a nice book. Its well made with handy conversions on the tabbed dividers. The easel ability is great, comes in real handy. The only reason I didnt give this 5 stars is that the description is a little deceiving. There are only two plastic covers for the pages, one in front and one in back. They way they describe the book makes me believe that all the pages are covered in plastic, but they are not. When your cooking you can remove the two plastic covers and place them in the book to cover the recipe that you are using at that time, so that is ok, but its not what I expected. All the pages should be in plastic sleeves for protection.I love it!

I've had one for about 15 years now, from when I first started baking. It's nice that the binder is in easel form, and the protector sheets make sure your recipes don't get splattered (if you're a messy cook, like me!).
